Remember that I am thy creature; I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel, whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed.

About this quotation
The creature speaks the line to Victor Frankenstein on a glacier above Chamonix, where he has demanded to be heard. Mary Shelley does not name the creature, who is called only the “creature”, the “monster” or the “fiend”.
